Enjoy the comfort and warm hospitality of our charming century old home. After a day of hiking, icebergs, whales, boat rides, museums and exploring, sit and relax on our deck with a glass of wine or a cup of tea and take in the views and fresh air.
Once the home of the late Captain Peter Troake who sailed the MV Christmas Seal testing for tuberculosis in the outports around Newfoundland and Labrador. The home was built in the 1880’s by the late Ephraim Jacobs and features beautiful tin ceilings on the main floor. It also maintains the original handcrafted millwork.

A three day stay is truly a minimum stay to enjoy all that the Islands of Twillingate have to offer.
Originally named Toulinguet by the French who fished here in the 1500s, fishermen from England settled here in the 1600s and changed the name to Twillingate. Steeped in history, there are a number of heritage buildings, museums, boat tours, gift stores, art galleries and restaurants. You can also find live entertainment every night of the week in season at different venues.
